SETUP


Step 1. Connections


Connect the Mixtrack Pro FX with your computer using the provided USB cable.
Connect your speakers to the rear Master Output using proper RCA cables and your Headphones to the front socket.

Step 2. Drivers


No drivers is necessary to be installed. Your Operating system will install the necessary drivers once the unit is connected to a USB port.

Step 3. VirtualDJ


Install VirtualDJ 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html (in case you have not done already)

Start VirtualDJ and login with your Account credentials.

A Pro Infinity, Pro Subscription or Plus Mixtrack Pro FX Controller License is required. http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Detection Window
A detection window will appear when the unit is first connected with VirtualDJ.



Choose where your speakers are connected and click to OK.



The Mixtrack Pro FX is now ready to operate with VirtualDJ

S SHIFT
Press this button down to access secondary actions as described in the SHIFT ACTION column
1 CROSSFADER
Blends audio signal from the decks assigned as left and right sides of the crossfader.
2 VOLUME
Adjust the Volume of the Left/Right Deck
Starts playback of Left/Right Deck when the fader is moved from the minimum (low) position to a different one and stops to Cue position when moved from any position to the minimum (Fader Start/Stop)
3 VU METERS
The LED array indicates the pre-fader Level Output of the Left/Right Decks
4 CUE
Send the pre-fader audio signal of the Left/Right Deck to the Headphones channel (for pre-listening)
5 FILTER
Apply the selected Color FX (Filter by default) to Left/Right Deck. When at center position, the Color FX is not applied. The Color FX can be selected from the VirtualDJ GUI.
6 BASS
Adjust the Low (Bass) Equalizer Band of the Left/Right Deck
7 MID
Adjust the Mid (Middle) Equalizer Band of the Left/Right Deck
8 TREBLE
Adjust the High (Treble) Equalizer Band of the Left/Right Deck
9 LEVEL
Adjust the pre-fader Level (Gain) of the Left/Right Decks
10 LOAD
Loads the selected track from the Browser to the Left/Right Deck. Double/fast press to clone the track of Left/Right Deck to the other Deck.
Unloads the track from the same Left/Right Deck
11 BROWSE
Scrolls through Folders or Tracks
Push to toggle focus between Folders and Songs List
Set focus to Folders list. If focus is in Folders list, expand collapse sub-folders
12 CUE GAIN
Adjust the Level of the Headphones Output Channel
13 CUE MIX
Send audio signal from the Master Output to the Headphones channel when in MIX (right) position.
Send audio signal from the Decks that have their PFL enabled to the Headphones channel when in CUE (left) position.
Blends the above audio signals when in all other positions.
14 MIC LEVEL
* Adjust the Volume of the Microphone Input (connection at the rear panel)
15 MASTER
Adjust the Volume of the Master Output


* Note: The Microphone input of the Mixtrack Pro FX is directly routed to the Master Output (hardware) and not part of the USB Audio interface, therefore it cannot be recorded or controlled from VirtualDJ. The MIC level knob is not sending any MIDI message and cannot be mapped to any VirtualDJ action.

 

EFFECTS

16 FX ON/HOLD
Triggers the selected Effect. Move the paddle triggers up (for toggle) or down for momentary. No Effect is applied when at middle position.
17 FX SELECT
Select an Effect for both Left/Right Decks. Pre-defined Effects are High-Pass Filter, Low-Pass Filter, Flanger, Echo,Reverb and Phaser. Led will blink when the Effect is enabled on any of the Left/Right decks. Only one Effect can be selected each time.
18 FX DRY/WET
Adjust the 1st Parameter - usually the Strength - of the selected Effect on both Left/Right Decks.
19 FX BEATS
Adjust the 2nd Parameter - usually the Beats - of the selected Effect on both Left/Right Decks.
20 TAP
When track is paused, set current position as 1st beat of the Beat-grid, or tap beat when track is playing to manually adjust Track's BPM.
Re-analyze track for BPM and Key


 

DECK CONTROLS

21 PLAY
Play/pause deck
Plays deck when paused. Jumps to Cue point and continues to play from there when deck is playing (play-stutter)
22 CUE
Sets a temporary Cue point when deck is paused and preview track while pressed.
Jumps and stops to the Cue point when deck is playing
Jumps and stops at the beginning of the track
23 SYNC
Matches track's tempo and pahse with the ones of the Master Deck.
Reset Track's tempo to original value (same as having the Pitch fader to center position
24 JOG
Touch-sensitive jogwheel for scratch, bend, loop adjust.
In Scratch mode (SCRATCH button lit), use the top side of the jogwheel to scratch and the outer side to bend (temporary slow-down/speed-up).

In Bend mode (SCRATCH button unlit), use the jogwheel to bend (temporary slow-down/speed-up)

In Loop In/Out Adjust modes , use the jogwheel to fine-adjust the Loop In (Start) / Loop Out (End) points of a manual loop.
Fast search (seek) through track's time
25 PITCH
Adjust Deck's tempo (BPM)
26 SCRATCH
Toggles between Scratch (Vinyl) and Bend (CD) modes for the Jogwheel
Censor/reverse. Plays track in reverse while held. When released, track will resume from the position it would have been if never played in reverse.
27 PITCH BEND -
Temporary slow-down deck's tempo. Tempo will return to the value designated by the Pitch fader, once the button is released
Select the next available -/+ % range for the Pitch fader
28 PITCH BEND +
Temporary speed-up deck's tempo. Tempo will return to the value designated by the Pitch fader, once the button is released
Enable/disable Key-Lock (Master Tempo). When enabled, the key of the track will retain its value when the Pitch/Tempo is changed.
29 LOOP
Triggers a Loop of the selected size in beats.
Enables the last triggered loop (reloop)
30 LOOP 1/2
Halves the length of the loop.
Set the Entry point of a Loop (Loop-In position). When in loop, sets Jogwheel to Loop-In Adjust mode
31 LOOP x2
Doubles the length of the loop.
Set the Exit point of a Loop (Loop-Out position). When in loop, sets Jogwheel to Loop-Out Adjust mode

37 MASTER OUTPUT
Connect your amplified speakers using proper RCA cables. The Level of this Output is controlled from the top panel of the unit
38 USB
Connect the Mixtrack Pro FX with a USB port of your computer, using the provided USB cable
39 MIC SOCKET
Connect a Microphone * using a 1/4" cable or adapter. The Level of this Input is controlled from the top panel of the unit[
40 HEADPHONES SOCKET
Connect your Headphones using a 1/4" or/and a 1/8" cable or adapter. The Volume of the Headphones channel is controlled from the top panel of the unit

Note : The Microphone Input is directly routed to the Master Output of the Mixtrack Pro FX. The input is not available in the USB Audio Interface, therefore it cannot be included in the Audio Setup nor can be recorded directly. However, recording your mix along with the Microphone Input is possible via Record LoopBack
